(SPS) Kimbrough-Lowe Turning Points Transfer Scholarship

Scholarship requirements:
• You are in good academic standing
• You are either a full-time or part-time student
• You have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 for all courses taken at NCC
• You are majoring in Human Services and/or Liberal Arts with an interest in Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related Human Services field.
• You are planning to graduate at the end of this semester
• You must be accepted and transferring to a 4-year institution in one of the above majors for this upcoming September. If you receive the scholarship you will need to provide a letter of acceptance from the transfer institution by the end of this semester which indicates that you have been accepted and the degree you are pursuing there.
• You must submit a letter verifying service or paid work in helping others in their local community. This can be demonstrated through an internship, volunteering, or a paid job setting. (a verification letter is required for each activity)
• You must submit an essay describing why you have chosen to pursue a career in the field of Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or a related Human Services field. Include what activities and life experiences have played a part in your decision. (Your essay should be 1 to 2 pages with the following settings: double-spaced, 12-point Times New Roman font and one-inch margins.)
