(SAFAC) Florence Lane Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship requirements:
• You are a full-time student
• You are in good academic standing
• You have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 for all courses taken at NCC
• You have completed at least 30 GPA credits at NCC
• You are involved in women’s issues, community service, and/or leadership activities (a verification letter is required for each activity)
• You will be continuing your education towards a baccalaureate degree
• You must submit an essay describing your future educational plans and your goal of obtaining a baccalaureate degree. Discuss your achievements and activities in women’s issues, or involvement in community service. (1-2 pages, double spaced, Time News Roman font)

  6. Activity Documentation: Upload official documentation verifying your participation in these activities. Documentation should be scanned and uploaded as a .pdf file. If you need help creating a .pdf file of your document or are unsure of what constitutes official documentation you can send an email to foundation@ncc.edu. Only one document would need to be uploaded to be eligible for the scholarship however you may wish to upload more to support your application. DO NOT select your transcript as one of the documents.

  7. Upload an essay describing your future educational plans and your goal of obtaining a baccalaureate degree. Discuss your achievements and activities in women’s issues, or involvement in community service.
  8. Your essay should be 1 to 2 pages with the following settings: double-spaced, 12-point Times New Roman font and one-inch margins. A substantially longer or shorter essay may adversely affect your rating.
  9. This is a scholarship application; spelling and grammar are important. Be sure that the essay is clear and concise.
  10. Your essay must address the given topic above.
  11. The file uploaded must be a .doc, .docx, or .pdf file. Evaluators are only able to open and read files of this type so any other file type submitted will result in a low rating of the overall application.
  12. I understand that my scholarship award(s) are subject to adjustments or cancellations due to changes in laws, regulations, appropriations, discovery of data errors from the information provided on my FAFSA, changes in my enrollment status, amongst other reasons..
