Burhan Ahmed Hanif Dreams and Ambitions Memorial Scholarship
Burhan was a Pakistani American who was born and raised in New York. He was a hardworking man who supported his family in all facets while working full-time and while attending school part time as a math and computer science major at Queens College all of which he paid for out of pocket. This was not easy for him and took a lot of strength, persistence, resilience, courage and so much more. Even though he graduated, he was not given the time in this lifetime to fulfill his other dreams of becoming a Trader and creating a family of his own. We wanted to come together and help someone like Burhan so that they can be given the opportunity to fulfill their dreams.
Burhan suffered from a sudden heart attack at only 33 years old. As you can imagine, this loss has left a monumental rift in our everyday lives because that’s how much of an impact he had on all of us. This loss is hard and has left our family shocked. We lost an exemplary human being, partner, son, brother, uncle, and friend.
To honor his memories on earth, we are creating a scholarship under his name at Nassau Community College. This scholarship fund will help another young man or woman like Burhan who needs that extra help to achieve their dreams.
